Ezekiel: Volume 1-Judgment is a historical-grammatical-exegetical commentary on Ezekiel chapters 1-24, where the priest-prophet is called among the exiles by the river Chebar and commissioned to speak Jehovah's word to a rebellious house. These chapters open with the majestic vision of the glory of Jehovah and unfold through sign-acts, indictments, temple visions, and solemn prophecies announcing the certain judgment of Judah and Jerusalem.
This volume traces the spiritual collapse of the covenant people, the profaning of Jehovah's sanctuary, the exposure of idolatry and bloodguilt, and the tragic departure of the glory from the temple. Yet even in judgment, the book reveals Jehovah's holiness, justice, sovereignty, and unwavering purpose to vindicate His great name.
