Jett, a recently transferred Border Patrol Agent to the Texas Rio Grande Valley, is scheduled to go on a quail hunting trip with Jimmy and Italo.  While Jett and Leo, his rotundedly obese friend, are enjoying a Mexican barbecue breakfast taco at Conchita's Cafe, Leo paints a very unfavorable picture of Italo, whom he depicts as a 'weird snake lover', 'unpredictable', and to Jett's startling surprise, a 'hater of Border Patrolmen.' Even though Jimmy drops out of the quail hunt at the last moment he convinces a somewhat reluctant Jett to go hunting with Italo anyway. To his regret, Jett finds himself captured in the company of someone who supposedly hates Border Patrolmen and, (in Jett's view) in a very strange land. His encounter with a Texas Diamondback Rattlesnake is (to him) horrifying, but in the end, he is pleasantly surprised. 'Ever Since Eve' will pull you into Italo's world, as a kid, as a teenager, and as young adult. His various encounters with snakes will make you laugh outloud. 'Ever Since Eve' is a fun book that will excite you and entertain you, and, whether you like snakes or not, it will educate you about snakes along the way.
