The Enchanted Glen is a fantasy adventure based on Scottish myths and legends handed down from generation to generation in the Scottish Highlands.
Two teenagers, Rory and Kenny, travel to a remote part of the Highlands on a 'Munro-Bagging' expedition, aiming to climb mountains over 3,000 feet in height. While chatting with a local farmer, they hear of a legendary Enchanted Glen that has been sealed off from the outside world for over 200 years. It is reputed to contain spectacular peaks not included in Rory's copy of the Scottish Munros Guidebook. Rory becomes determined to find this glen and to climb these peaks so that he can be the first person to truly climb all of Scotland's Munros.
Much to the surprise of the two budding adventurers, they succeed in accessing the glen, only to discover that it contains more than just new mountain peaks. Strange creatures from Scotland's mythical past roam the length of the glen, and there are many dangers - both seen and unseen. Their wisest course of action would be to retrace their steps and depart immediately. However, they soon realise that this is impossible. If they wish to escape the glen, they must complete a perilous task: find the 'weapons of Fingal' and use them to free a local village from the control of an evil force known as the Drychos. This quest is further complicated by a host of other dangers that must be avoided or overcome, including water horses, witches, Fingal's warriors, fairy communities, swamps, spunkies, deadly forests, and treacherous landslips.
The story's climax involves a mighty battle between the Forces of Good and the Forces of Evil as the adventurers make a desperate attempt to escape the glen.
