Emendations of the Authorized Version of the Old Testament is a book written by Selig Newman and published in 1839. The book contains a series of suggested corrections and revisions to the King James Version of the Old Testament, which was the most widely used English translation of the Bible at the time. Newman's emendations are based on a careful study of the original Hebrew text, and he argues that they are necessary to correct errors and inconsistencies in the King James Version. The book includes detailed explanations of each emendation, as well as a discussion of the principles and methods used to arrive at them. While Newman's work was not widely adopted by scholars or religious authorities, it remains an important contribution to the history of Bible translation and interpretation. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
