Have you ever found yourself feeling lost and trapped, without hope, until you suddenly realise your own identity? Dreams and Seeking Help present an intimate account of Geo, a young person navigating emotional and psychological challenges-delving into themes of dreams, trauma, and the pursuit of support and healing. Dreams and seeking assistance underscore the essential contributions of educators, families, and mental health professionals in delivering empathetic and practical support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Educators, families, and mental health professionals play vital roles in supporting young people with mental health challenges. Their collaboration empowers the community by encouraging open communication and fostering an environment where everyone feels valued. I am sincerely grateful to the community that supported me, especially during my periods of absence while I was organising my thoughts and writing.
I extend my sincere gratitude to my family members and supporters, whose support and encouragement made this project possible. Their patience and empathy throughout challenging times have been invaluable. To those who will benefit from this documentation, remember to extend your support to others and be cheerful, even when you do not want to. Continue to be light-minded, even when life's pressures weigh on you. Building or strengthening support networks, such as regular check-ins or community groups, can make a significant difference. It is advisable not to hold grudges against others, as every individual possesses a unique and irreplaceable existence. Everyone is unique and valuable in their own right; respect them. Practising understanding and acceptance promotes compassion and strengthens community bonds, helping us overcome past hurts and grow together.
