Elian thought he was fortunate for evading death at the end of Falgon's Fall, but he was mistaken. There was a curse placed upon him by the Auric, Terros. The rejection of the elves is a harsh blow. While his spirits are low, Elian's friend, Sye, approaches with troubling news. The commander of Falgon's knights reveals a rumor - a disturbing one. A dragon has invaded the land of Ladia. In fact, he has already taken over a fortress. The group seeks to investigate this rumor, taking advantage of the opportunity. After all, a dragon would be a powerful ally.

During Elian's adventure, his father, Thrye, launches his own investigation - the cause of the disappearance of several citizens. As he is pulled further into the investigation, Elian's father uncovers an unspeakable evil lurking underneath the castle.
