Doug the Pug is a charming little baggy dog, living in the United Kingdom. Here, he shares tales of his busy life as a working dog. Doug works with children in schools, helping them feel secure and comforted while the children learn to read. His presence encourages children to see school as a positive environment, reinforces positive social behaviour and self-worth, and helps them develop empathy. This book is the story of Doug's work-what he does and thinks about during the day, and how he's helped the people that have needed him the most. Children seven to ten years age, children with cognitive, physical, emotional challenges, and parents, teachers, and learning support workers with an interest in animal assisted therapy will all find Doug's story entertaining and educational.
