PERFECT HOLIDAY GIFT FOR FANS OF HISTORICAL ADVENTURE AND HIGH STAKES MYSTERY!
On vacation in Hawaii, an American, his English fiancée, and their friends are startled by the eruption of Kīlauea on Kona, but more surprised by mysterious encounters with ruffians. Returning to the States the American is advised to solicit support from Members of Parliament for legislation which would compensate him for his claim that William the Conqueror illegally confiscated his ancestor's seven properties in southern Northamptonshire. The American travels surreptitiously to the British Isles to drum up support for the bill. Despite precautions he is harassed by attempts to dissuade him from his quest. While his fiancée has paused the engagement due to flirtation from a baronet, the American is rescued by a savvy Scots lady from a treacherous encounter. The American's litigation for compensation is delayed by an English judge's reluctance to follow precedent who refers the claim to Parliament. The House of Commons, however, is overcome by complications from Brexit. In light of an overwhelming Tory victory at the 2019 general election, the Government procures withdrawal of the UK from the EU, and the Anglo-Saxon Committee re-starts hearings. But soon these efforts are sidelined by the coronavirus pandemic originating in Wuhan, China. Will the American's engagement with the female Shell Oil Company lawyer be resuscitated and his claim validated as they await future developments over which they have no control?
