Jesse, taking a leave of absence from NCA, travels to Cape Cod to attend his brother's Celebration of Life and reunite with his godchild, Julie, whom he hasn't seen in a decade. Jesse attempts to work amicably with local law enforcement and the State Police to solve the crime but to no avail. Using his NCA connections, he is appointed the lead agent in the field. Bringing together the police and outsiders who knew and loved his brother, Jesse creates a viable task force to solve the murder. Deal Gone Bad is a follow up mystery/thriller to Robertson Browne's two previous, highly acclaimed, David Knight mysteries. It builds upon both Six Days in May and Daze of September to create a cohesive trilogy. The action is fast paced and hard hitting. The characters are believable, and the story line credible.
