Dr. Morgan is believed to be giving patients lethal doses of medication. With information from former employees and Eden's ex, Andrew Keaton, they confirm their suspicions. However, Eden and Jared's growing romance is halted by Andrew's involvement, leading Eden to initially work on the story alone. Eventually, Jared sets aside his jealousy and joins forces with Eden after revealing his personal connection to the hospital.

With the help of Eden's best friend, Tina, the Assistant District Attorney, they gather enough evidence to have charges of multiple crimes brought on Dr. Morgan, including murder of a patient in another state, inhumane treatment of mentally ill patients, and assault. Dr. Morgan is also accused of assaulting young women at the local university. Ultimately, Eden and Jared successfully publish their front-page article, leading to Dr. Morgan's arrest and justice for his victims.
