Este libro trata de responder a éstas y otras cuestiones en torno a la educación en valores. En beneficio de esta educación disponemos de un buen número de métodos que ayudan al alumnado en la reflexión ética sobre los grandes y pequeños problemas morales de nuestro tiempo. Este trabajo aspira a presentar uno de esos métodos sin el ánimo de considerarlo como un sustituto de los otros, sino como un buen complemento de cualquiera de ellos. El lector encontrará expuestos los aspectos teóricos y prácticos del mismo, además de una cantidad considerable de dilemas morales para aplicar directamente en las aulas.
La experiencia nos ha mostrado que la discusión de dilemas morales puede ser un buen recurso metodológico para abordar la educación moral, tanto desde la asignatura especÃfica de Ética como desde la educación en valores en general. El uso de los dilemas, cuya piedra angular no es más que el reconocimiento en el otro de la capacidad de la palabra, del dia-logos, puede llegar a ser una clara ejemplificación de cómo los alumnos, convertidos en sujetos activos, construyen su propio aprendizaje en la medida en que interactúan reflexivamente con el medio y tratan de comprenderlo.
En una época en la que urge desarrollar la capacidad dialógica de las personas para resolver los problemas sin hacer uso de la violencia, es muy útil conocer este procedimiento educativo, válido para suscitar el diálogo y para adoptar posturas razonadas y razonables en el terreno de los valores, de las actitudes y de la conducta.
