This idea becomes the seed of a new framework he calls Dynamical Relational Theory, or DRT.

The book explores how a single idea can reshape a life. The theorist becomes consumed by the implications of DRT. If the universe is relational, then everything is connected in ways deeper than space and time. If instability drives cosmic evolution, then the universe has a direction, a purpose, a tendency toward structure. If connectivity evolves with matter, then galaxies, clusters, and the cosmic web are not accidents but natural consequences of the relational fabric.
As the theory gains traction, the story expands outward. Observatories begin testing the predictions. Cosmologists debate the implications. Some results appear to support DRT. Others challenge it. The tension between belief and doubt becomes a central theme. The protagonist must confront the possibility that his life's work may be wrong, or worse, only partly right. He must decide whether to defend the theory at all costs or to let the data speak for itself.
The book also explores the philosophical consequences of a relational universe. If spacetime is not fundamental, what does that mean for causality, identity, and the nature of existence. If the universe is built from relationships, then nothing exists in isolation. Every event is part of a larger pattern. Every structure is shaped by the whole. This leads the protagonist to reflect on his own life, his relationships, and the connections he has neglected in pursuit of understanding.
In the final act, the story reaches a turning point when a major astronomical survey releases new data. The results either confirm or challenge the key prediction of DRT.
