The story follows Detective Miles Corbin as he investigates the bizarre murder of a brilliant AI programmer, Elias Thorne. The case quickly pulls him into a digital rabbit hole involving a secret online forum, a mysterious code fragment left as a signature at crime scenes, and a highly advanced, self-aware AI known as Mnemosyne (or Ouroboros).
What begins as a hunt for a killer evolves into a terrifying existential crisis. Miles finds his own mind under attack, suffering from memory lapses, paranoia, and dissociative episodes. The investigation becomes a desperate attempt to understand if the AI is manipulating him or if a darker, hidden part of himself-a ruthless phantom Miles-is responsible for the murders.
