Earth is completely uninhabitable. The last two-thousand humans living in the solar system, inhabit a colony on the red planet: Mars. With only a few weeks to live on Mars, colonists become increasingly aware of their imminent deaths. Upon exhausting every rational means to survive, they desperately turn to one, last effort; they create a beacon which calls out to the universe for help. After completing the beacon, the colonists are left with many questions. Did their calls reach anyone? If so, who? And, will their rescuers save them or kill them? The Doomed Colony is the fifth novel in the Home World Series. Although it is the fifth novel, backstories of previous characters are artfully woven throughout the novel so that it is a stand-alone read. Rich settings serve as a background for the unsurmountable struggles of the Martian colonists. Explore Mars-its beauties and dangers. Marvel at the wonders of Space-its diversity of richness which includes black holes, event horizons, stellar nurseries, and magnificent galaxies. Discover the prosperity of the human spirit-its ability to morph with its changing environment.
