Isabel arrives in the wrong future. Now entire worlds are coming apart.
From 2026 IndieReader Discovery Awards winner DL Orton comes Dome, Book Three of the Madders of Time series. Publishers Weekly praised Hive as an engrossing doomsday thriller spliced with heart, humor, and second chances, while BookTrib praised its characters that feel real, emotions that hit hard.
Sixteen-year-old Lucas has one job: keep the timelines from collapsing while Madders searches for a future where humanity survives. But the plan is unraveling. Lucas needs someone quick, discreet, and obedient. He gets Sabina Lovelace. Pulled from her own world, Sabina infiltrates a locked-down airport hours before Eden-17 seals. When she refuses to let Cassie and Picasso miss the last flight to safety, she rewrites the mission and forces Lucas into a midair theft of the Hive Controller - an object they must plant in another timeline for someone to find years later.
Twelve years after Eden-17 seals, Isabel and Tolstoy arrive underwater near the ruins of Denver International Airport. Diego is gone. Before Isabel can follow his trail, scavengers seize her and drag her inside the terminal as killerbots swarm outside. The People of the Fence blame Isabel for creating the machines that destroyed civilization. They have a point. But when the bots fail to kill her, Isabel may become proof that everything they believe is wrong. The Keeper sends her to the Hook, a rusted cage in killerbot territory, where she will be used as bait for an Eden-2 convoy.
In another timeline, James - a version of Diego - has the life the others were fighting for: Bella, their five-year-old twins Lucas and Soleil, and a family worth everything. Years earlier, James and Dave Kirkland received impossible plans for biodomes, a spacetime bridge, and a machine that could see other timelines. Now a metal sphere has fallen in Siberia with James' name - and one of his worn socks - inside. The Russians follow the mystery back to James, then to Bella and the children. To protect them, James may have to die. Or at least convince the world he has.
Parallel lives. Worlds apart. One time loop tearing itself apart. Every rescue rewrites the future, and every life saved leaves someone else to pay the price.
