Dino the Rhino is a heartwarming story in the Chop Wood Carry Water children's series about kindness, courage, and doing what's right-even when it's hard. Written by bestselling author Joshua Medcalf and illustrated by Magz Yang, this powerful tale comes to life through vibrant storytelling and expressive artwork that makes its timeless message accessible for young readers.
Dino is a gentle white rhino with a big horn and an even bigger heart. When his family moves to a new part of the savannah, Dino finds himself in a new school where he's teased for being different. Left out, laughed at, and lonely, Dino begins to question whether kindness is worth it when others are unkind.
But when a fierce storm leaves his classmates in danger, Dino must decide: should he walk away-or help the very animals who hurt him?
Through one brave choice, Dino teaches readers that true strength comes not from revenge or pride, but from forgiveness, compassion, and love. A story of emotional resilience, Dino the Rhino inspires children to lead with empathy, no matter the circumstances-and reminds us all that kindness is always the bravest thing we can choose.
