David Clayton came to Rio Seco looking for a missing man. He's leaving with a lot more than he bargained for - if he leaves at all.
When his colleague Stacey stops reporting in, private investigator David Clayton follows the trail to a dust-choked town on the Mexican border, where every local swears the man never existed. A rattlesnake in his hotel bed and a mob in the street make it clear someone wants him gone - until a silent, powerful stranger called Coyote Man saves his life and offers to lead him to the truth.
What Clayton finds in the canyon country beyond Rio Seco is a secret decades in the hiding, a protector with his own bloody methods, and a desert that seems determined to kill him one way or another. Betrayed, hunted, and left for dead more than once, Clayton has to survive long enough to find out who's really lying - before the canyon collects one more body.
The Devil's Choice is an unproduced screenplay by the late Verland T Whipple, presented here in its original screenplay format along with a full plot synopsis.
