In the first story in this book, Daniel meets the Spanish robot and they play a game as they say the Spanish words for various types of transport. In the second story, Daniel isn't well and he keeps asking the Spanish robot for some biscuits! But will Daniel get any biscuits, or does the Spanish robot think he needs healthier food to help him get better? Read to the end of the story to find out what happens!
The Spanish words and phrases introduced in book 1 include:
- Essential phrases: Hola, Adiós, sÃ, por favor, gracias, muchas gracias
- Me llamo... Cómo estás? Cómo estáis? Muy bien / Mal
- Numbers: uno dos tres
- Transport: un tren, un autobús, un avión, un coche
- Food: unas galletas, una tarta, una sopa, unos cereales
- Fruit: unas fresas, una naranja
The author of this book is a qualified teacher, with 20 years experience in teaching languages to children. This story is ideal for children aged 3 - 7 but it may also interest children of other ages. At the back of the book there are two pages that may be photocopied for class or home use:
- Useful Spanish words and phrases - To help learn some Spanish words you could create a poster by copying some of the words and pictures.
- A short song that could be sung or made into a rap - how many different versions can you create using the lyrics?
