COPYCAT Book 2 is the continuation of the novel COPYCAT, written by Mike Nelson. At the end of COPYCAT, it appeared that the serial killer, Jerry Banks, had been vaporized in a rocket attack after trying to murder the author's entire family. However six months later, Kevin Mason, the author of The Highwayman - the book that Jerry had used as an instructional manual for murdering a series of women - gets an email from Jerry Banks. Attached to the email is another video, filmed in Michigan, showing the gruesome murder of yet another young woman. Along with the attached video, Jerry sends Kevin a message telling him that he knows what the FBI tried to do to him six months before, and that he plans to continue his pursuit of Kevin and his family. As before, Kevin immediately contacts the Salt Lake City, Utah, FBI Field Office that begins an urgent investigation.
To add even more of a sense of urgency to the situation this time, Jerry had posted his email nearly two weeks before, but Kevin didn't see it until Monday morning, four short days before the Thanksgiving holiday! Kevin and his family have rented a large Airbnb in St. George, Utah, for their entire family where they plan to celebrate the holiday together! The Local FBI Field Office begins working with other FBI agencies in an attempt to find and stop Jerry from carrying out his latest threats against the family. Dealing long distance with those other agencies not only proves to be cumbersome but downright dangerous. Will they catch the serial killer before he makes the 2,000 mile journey from Michigan, or will he get his revenge on the author and his family this time?
