Caty Luby was a young girl from Ireland who travelled to England, at the turn of the century, for a better life. Did this turn out to be like her dreams? Was her destiny planned from the beginning or did it change by the passage of time. We always knew she was a physically powerful girl with strong opinions about her role in society, but did she carry this trait through to womanhood? She was solely tested by events beyond her control and sought solace in accepting the consequences in her own special approach. Her insights into romance, bad behavior, good deeds, rough times and humorous escapades tug hard at her Catholicism. She resolves this in her own unusual way to make it plausible for her uncomplicated character to survive. Would you have done the same?
