Who made the stars, the animals, the oceans and you?
The Creation Story is a gentle Christian picture book for children aged 4-8, offering a warm and engaging introduction to the biblical Creation story from Genesis.
One quiet evening, Ellie and Ollie snuggle together beneath a sky filled with twinkling stars. When Ellie wonders who made the beautiful world around them, Ollie begins a remarkable story - right at the very beginning.
Through Ollie's comforting words, young readers discover how God brought light into the darkness, formed the sky, land and seas, and covered the earth with trees, flowers and grass. They watch as the sun, moon and stars appear, followed by colourful fish, soaring birds, gentle and wild animals, and people created to care for God's wonderful world.
As Creation comes alive in Ellie's imagination, she begins to understand something especially important: she, too, is part of God's creation. She was made with love, she belongs in His beautiful world and she is deeply loved every single day.
Featuring charming hand-painted-style watercolour and coloured-pencil illustrations, this faith-based children's book celebrates wonder, belonging, God's love and caring for the natural world. Its simple language and reassuring message make the Genesis Creation story accessible and meaningful for young children.
The learning continues beyond the story with:
- thoughtful I wonder questions that encourage discussion, comprehension and reflection
- a gentle child-friendly prayer
- a memorable Creation song
- Ellie and Ollie character puppets for imaginative play
- sequencing images for retelling the Creation story
- five additional hands-on activities exploring light and darkness, movement, nature, identity and caring for God's world
These interactive resources make the book ideal for reading at home, family devotionals, churches, Sunday schools, Christian classrooms, homeschool lessons, playgroups and early childhood faith education.
Part of the Ellie and Ollie Learn Faith series, The Creation Story is a tender Bible story for children that encourages little readers to explore the beauty of Creation, recognise their special place within it and remember that God loves them - yesterday, today and every day.
