The story of the Creating A Champion sculpture. This is a story that, like so many, started as a silly thought! A thought of Michelangelo ...... that thought developed over time ...... ultimately turning into this 4 ton sculpture. This Creating a Champion design came to me in an instant ..... an instant of panic that I will also describe later. Champion is carved into a single 12 ton block of Canadian white marble from a quarry on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
