The Congregational Psalmist is a book of psalm tunes adapted to a selection of hymns contained in another book called The Psalmist. It is intended for use in Baptist churches and is dated 1855. The book is authored by Jacob Richardson Scott. Its purpose is to provide a collection of hymns and psalms for congregational use during worship services. The book is designed to assist church members in singing together as a group, with the psalm tunes providing a musical accompaniment to the hymns. The Congregational Psalmist is a valuable resource for those interested in Baptist church music and worship practices during the mid-19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
