In the process of resolving collective disputes, the focus is more on peaceful means, which are also those recommended to the parties in conflict, to spare them the elasticity of costly and exhausting legal proceedings, including conciliation, mediation and arbitration. However, as the parties are often not satisfied with the solutions resulting from the means of peaceful resolution of collective disputes, they sometimes resort to non-peaceful means. The non-peaceful means to which we refer here are strikes and lockouts, even if they are different types of collective disputes.
