A Clash of Tides takes place in a fantasy realm where the land is ruled by inquisitive humans and the sea by vicious mer. Under the sea war and sickness plague the kingdoms of mer forcing royals to give up their children and heirs to protect what is left of their kingdoms. While on land anger, hatred and betrayals brew as a result of a mer prophecy made long ago. The story follows two main protagonists, Tallulah a young mer girl who survives tragedy after tragedy, eventually landing in the role of esteemed hand maiden to the legendary dragon of the west. And Ivara Mare, a young mer woman who is plagued by amnesia and horrifying nightmares that seem a bit too real. Though the two mermaids stories take place years apart they could not be more entwined.
