Butterscotch the dog greets the children at the door when they come home from school. A friend of Jacob's is spending the night. They go together to play video games. The mom calls to Jacob to set the table and his friend does not want to stop playing the game. Jacob goes anyways, and then everyone sits down to eat. After the meal the children clean the dishes, except for the friend. Later the dad calls to Jacob to get cuddles, which the friend watches silently. The boys get into sleeping bags and go to sleep. The next morning the friend decides he wants to help out so that he can show his parents how much he loves them. Butterscotch gets a piece of pancake.
