From the Files of the St. Louis Police Homicide Division - Book 11

A late-night rendezvous at a seedy St. Louis motel. A successful restaurant owner walking to his car. Headlights flaring in the dark.

Grant Holloway never makes it home.

When Detective Sergeant Mick Callahan and Detective Darius Coleman arrive at the Archway Motor Lodge, the scene looks like a hit-and-run. But the evidence tells a different story: a vehicle waiting in the shadows, no braking, a deliberate change of direction. This was no accident.

Holloway owned one of the city's most celebrated restaurants, The Copper Table. He was married. He was also meeting someone who wasn't his wife in Room 18.

As Callahan and Coleman dig into the night of the murder, they uncover a tangled web of secrets: a jealous husband who threatened the victim, a wife who suspected the affair, a business partner with everything to lose, and a trail of anonymous messages that refuse to go away. Every lead points toward passion, money, or revenge-yet the physical evidence refuses to cooperate with the obvious suspects.

Someone knew exactly when Holloway would leave that motel room. Someone had been watching.

In this gripping police procedural, Callahan and Coleman must separate the lies everyone is telling from the truth no one wants to face. Because the real motive for murder may have nothing to do with the woman in Room 18... and everything to do with a debt that has been waiting years to be collected.

Perfect for fans of Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, and tightly plotted detective fiction that keeps the twists coming until the final page.

**Checkout Time** is the eleventh entry in the acclaimed St. Louis Police Homicide Division series.
