Charles Boone (born Cleveland, on June 21, 1939) is an American composer of contemporary classical music, living in San Francisco. Boone studied first at the University of Southern California and later with composers Ernst Krenek and Adolph Weiss in Los Angeles. His works have been performed by the Chicago Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and others. He is a former director of the Djerassi Resident Artists Program and associate professor at the San Francisco Art Institute. In 1971 he founded the Bring Your Own Pillow concert series, which would evolve into San Francisco Contemporary Music Players.
