Captain Brassbound's Conversion is a play written by George Bernard Shaw. The story revolves around a wealthy and powerful woman named Lady Cicely Waynflete who hires an adventurer named Captain Brassbound to help her track down a man who has wronged her. As they journey through North Africa, Lady Waynflete discovers that Brassbound has a personal vendetta against the man they are pursuing and plans to kill him. She tries to persuade him to change his mind, but Brassbound is stubborn and refuses to listen. However, as they spend more time together, Lady Waynflete begins to see the good in Brassbound and tries to convert him to a more compassionate way of thinking. The play explores themes of revenge, morality, and the power of persuasion. Shaw's signature wit and social commentary are on full display in this thought-provoking work.BRASSBOUND. Nervous, sir! no. Nervousness is not in my line. You will find me perfectly capable of saying what I want to say--with considerable emphasis, if necessary. Sir Howard assents with a polite but incredulous nod. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
