This is a story about two people looking for each other lifetime after lifetime. A peasant and a botanist in a distant galaxy; a princess and a slave in Thebes, Egypt during the Middle Kingdom; a soldier and a nurse in the first and second world war; a photojournalist and an artist in Los Angeles, California; Canvas of Time is the story of two soulmates on a journey to find each other across time.
Reviews
They departed bodiless from their room into the sky - fresh new romance storiesCalifornia author Amélie Pimont graduated film school and produces independent films. Now in addition to her films she turns to writing novels: CANVAS OF TIME is her debut publication. Born in Paris, she now lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
The manner in which the author incorporates her conjoined skills in both film and writing is one of the several reasons that this collection of four short stories works so well. She ably moves from fantasy through history and contemporary settings and makes each tale plausible and sensuous. Her initial story unveils her ability to create picturesque stages - 'Hundreds and thousands of years ago, there was a confederation on the other side of planet Earth's milky way. They shared culture and language for many centuries. A violent civil war broke up the alliance, and each planet developed their own cultures. This was where we met one of these planets. It was the middle of the afternoon, late August, The sun shone on Sarah's face, Her green eyes sparkled as she stared off at the village...' A strange beginning that develops into a fine otherworldly adventure romance opens this treasure trove of stories of the power and persistence of love.
The writing is very fine and makes this book an auspicious debut for a gifted story weaver.
A LOVE Story above time
A beautiful love story and a challenge to time and death. Despite the fact that I usually read my books in French, this story captivated me so much that I couldn't let go of Canvas of time and devoured it in a few days!
I loved this book by Amelie Pimont, it is written with rhythm and action, it is very accessible and at the same time subtle and detailed, very lively and fascinating. I would love Amelie to write another one !!!: )
Epitome of Romance
Wow. This book is like the epitome of romance that transcends time, space, distance, and universes. I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with two people whose fate is tied to each other no matter which lifetime and no matter which kind of people they are. Canvas of Time is a truly great romance book that I would definitely recommend to anyone. Because not only will you fall in love with the characters, but you will fall in love with each story in their lifetime, you will feel happy, giddy and cry for each lifetime they spend together. This book enters the list of the best books I've read this year! Truly worth reading!
Delightful novel
Canvas of Time is a delightful novel and the debut work of Amélie Pimont. This science-fiction story, addressed to adults and adolescents, features reincarnation, strife, loss, challenge, a bit of suspense, passion, but above all, love.
I really liked the premise of the story, this is the type of book that really enthralls me. With the spectacular descriptions of the magnificent settings of Egypt and Los Angeles, the writer makes the reader travel, even in this pandemic time!
I fell in love with the main characters, Sarah and Eli, I could really empathize with them and I understood the reason why they travel through space and time only to find each other again.
In 583 pages, Amélie tells us a fantastic romantic story that springs from a controversial and difficult situation.
I was so trapped in the reading that I couldn't put the book down! I read it in ONLY two days! I highly recommend it, give it
