Cantos From The Divina Commedia Of Dante is a book that was originally published in 1896. It is a collection of selected cantos from one of the most famous works of Italian literature, The Divine Comedy, written by Dante Alighieri in the early 14th century. The book includes a total of 34 cantos, which are divided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The Inferno section depicts Dante's journey through Hell, where he encounters various sinners and punishments. The Purgatorio section shows Dante's ascent through Mount Purgatory, where he meets souls who are undergoing purgation before they can enter Heaven. The Paradiso section describes Dante's journey through Heaven, where he meets various saints and experiences the ultimate beatitude. The book includes a preface by the translator, Charles Eliot Norton, who provides an introduction to Dante's life and work, as well as an explanation of the translation process. The translation itself is in the form of verse, which captures the beauty and rhythm of Dante's original Italian text.Overall, Cantos From The Divina Commedia Of Dante is a timeless classic that offers readers a glimpse into the medieval world of Dante's imagination, as well as insights into the human condition and the nature of God.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
