This volume presents the complete works of C. Sallustius Crispus, known in English as Sallust, a Roman historian, politician and one of the earliest Roman historians with surviving works to his name. Sallust is best known for his historical monographs, including The Conspiracy of Catiline (Bellum Catilinae or De Catilinae coniuratione) and The Jugurthine War (Bellum Iugurthinum). He also wrote Histories (Historiae), of which only fragments survive. His writings are valued for their sharp insights into Roman politics and society during a period of significant upheaval and change.
