The story is based in the late 60's and early 70's with the happenings of the times as a background. Civil rights and war are the backdrop to events that unfold when the innocent meet the guilty and horrifying events unfold. An unrepentant ex-criminal is released to the streets and throws a family into turmoil that threatens the lives and peace of a mostly naive and ordinary group of people. A reluctant hero emerges in the form of a worldly brother who after frustrations with the system takes matters into his own hands. He draws on his war and real world experiences along with some unique talents to approach the problem.The story's characters are the full cross section of society and the interaction between them makes for some humor as well as some horror. It presents the human interest side as well as the dark unjust side of life. As events unfold the reader is drawn into them. All the real world emotions surface as love, hate, sympathy, and compassion all pass in front of the reader in a parade of spell binding events. The fast moving story brings these events to a climax with a story line that flows quickly and smoothly.
