Gretchen Stenehjem, author of the Buddy the Dog series lives in Watford City, North Dakota. Buddy Goes to Arizona was written by Gretchen and her grandson, Charlie Stenehjem, who lives in Phoenix, Arizona. Charlie's family owned a dog, Walter, who looked identical to Buddy. Unfortunately, like Buddy, Walter passed on. The memories of both Buddy and Walter live on in the hearts of the Stenehjems along with the fun they enjoyed with their two beloved dogs.
