Set in the desolate landscape of western America in the late 1800s, ten-year-old Jesse Williams finds himself unwillingly thrust into the horrific conditions of an approaching winter after the brutal murder of his sister and a failed bank robbery force him and his last remaining companions on a long and treacherous journey.
