What Readers say:
I felt like I was there!
Absolutely fabulous second section of the Exit Earth series. Even better than the first book, which I loved.
Breakdown moves along at a good clip keeping the reader engaged and interested. Just like Blowout this book is hard to put down. In this continuation of the Exit Earth series, the author, Terry Persun, once again shows his gift of being able to take us into the story in such a skillful way that we feel we are living it, not reading it!

In this continuation of the Exit Earth series, the author, Terry Persun, once again shows his gift of being able to take us into the story in such a skillful way that we feel we are living it, not reading it!
As always, Persun is able to describe the technology in an understandable and approachable manner, but it is the interwoven human relationships that form the heart of the story. Challenged with a crumbling infrastructure, poorly trained subcontractors, and uninformed management, the Flannery family must salvage enough skill and knowledge to rebuild the Pallas Shell World without causing harm to its millions of inhabitants or its delicate ecosystem? The former management team for the Pallas Shell World has already evacuated the world, leaving only a recently promoted underling in charge. As the Flannery family drama continues, they leave their oldest son and structural engineer onboard the Starlight and won't see him for over a year. Forced to hire a new, inexperienced graduate, the Flannery family find themselves in the midst of a dangerous and life-threatening reconstruction project. The Shell World is old, poorly maintained, and struggling to stay viable before there is a catastrophic failure. Insightful and well-written.
The characters continue to draw me in, and the tension is constant. Excellent writing.
Everything about this sequel was better than I expected.
