During a desert holiday excursion, two young boys go from being strangers to rivals to friends - all in the span of one life-altering night. But will their newfound alliance survive the haunting desert wilderness? Especially now that they're both candidates vying for unlimited power from their spiritual superiors. If anything, becoming eternal enemies seems to be the only natural progression of their relationship. It's only a matter of time.
*******Full summary: They're a group of young aristocrats, trapped in a destination birthday party full of unapologetic snobs and social-climbers with too much gold and time on their hands. The desert looms large around them, but a short distance away lies a manmade jungle perched ominously amidst the dunes. Just after nightfall, the Prince, the ringleader of the group, has a brilliant idea: let's ditch these stiffs, stomp through a stretch of sand, and muck about that forest - the one that looks like an ideal spot for a horror-story chase sequence. There's nothing there but birds, insects, and trees... or so all the Kings of Earth would have everyone believe. The Prince, however, knows the truth. There are three million trees in that forest, and one of them bears fruit with the power to revise the past and change fate forever. The Prince was born with everything anyone could ever desire. The world was like a saltshaker to him, always just within his reach. But even he has his reasons for wanting to make the universe bend, kneel, and bow to his will. Buzzed with the thrill of a new quest and a few drops of a highly potent and slightly illegal invisibility-tonic, the group decamps in search of the supernatural sapling. But first, they'll have to contend with all the phantoms and demons guarding the place. The Prince doesn't see the harm in it. Ghosts and spirits are nowhere near as terrifying as real people. But he's forgotten one thing: his friends are people too.
