The Florida Mavericks are seeking a new location for their spring training and a home for their Triple A affiliate team. The firm of Lee Baker Holdings is gathering land in the Boynton Beach, Florida, area in the hopes of developing a vacant swath of land devastated by Hurricane Alice and a horrific fire at Walter's Lumber as a baseball stadium and luxury resort.. Reggie, Sandra, Russ, Sophia, Joe, Jane, and Craig become involved when they discover the mutilated body of a city counsel member on the bank of an Everglades canal in the Arthur R. Marshall Wildlife Refuge. Craig teams up with an old college buddy to help secure the land for the development company while Reggie and friends pursue the cause of the councilwoman's death. It soon becomes apparent that the two events are intertwined leading to an explosive climax.
