PROLOGUE:
Down an obscure alley that held many curiosity stores was an ancient bookshop. And Geoff was looking for a book that was one of those rare jewels society had forgotten-one that, when you read it, pulled you in and made you feel like you could almost see and feel what others did. He wanted a good read that flowed, allowing him to escape into it. And Geoff wasn't fond of those flowery books with fanciful words that danced across the pages because they always seemed more painfully artsy than good and usually lacked comfortable readability.
