The Black Channel Operational Unit does not exist.
Its members are not in service. Its operations are not on record. Its mandate (the investigation, containment, or neutralisation of phenomena the German Reich has elected to weaponise) is not acknowledged by any authority on this side of the conflict.
The work, however, continues.
This volume collects the unit's first three Operations, recovered from sources that should not exist:
OPERATION: BADGER
Belgian farmland, May 1944. A pre-war grain installation, expanded under occupation, housing something the German records describe as an ongoing containment challenge. The squad has thirty-six hours to put it back in the ground. They have less than that before it puts itself somewhere else.OPERATION: IRON WOLF
The Ardennes forest. A German biological development programme producing augmented units; eight in total. Six are in the facility. The Hauptmodell is in the trees. Unit Seven is unaccounted for.OPERATION: NEIN LIVES
Normandy, France. A converted research site. A subject the Germans have killed fourteen times. The fourteenth was not enough. This omnibus edition includes:
- All three Operations, fully revised
- Mission File prefaces, the bureaucratic record as filed by the office that ran them
- Theatre Operations Map showing the squad's deployment across the Western Front
- Recovered field sketches and operational artifacts
- Cumulative After-Action Report
- Anomaly Classification Appendix
- Personnel File Summaries for every member of the unit
Read in any order. Each Operation stands alone. The classified record stands together.
Operations 4-6 available now in ebook. Volume Two collected paperback edition forthcoming.
