The Book of Governors: The Historia Monastica of Thomas, Bishop of Marga, A.D. 840, Volume 2, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Church of the East during the 9th century. Written by Thomas, Bishop of Marga, this volume continues the chronicle of monastic life and the biographies of notable religious figures in the region. Sir Ernest Alfred Wallis Budge's expert translation makes this important historical text accessible to modern readers.
This volume provides valuable insights into the religious, social, and political landscape of the time, shedding light on the interactions between Christian communities and the broader Middle Eastern world. It is an essential resource for historians, theologians, and anyone interested in the rich tapestry of early Christian history.
