The Beaux-Stratagem is a play written by George Farquhar in 1707 and published in 1898. It is a comedy that tells the story of two young men, Aimwell and Archer, who travel to the countryside with the intention of marrying wealthy women. They pose as a wealthy lord and his servant, respectively, in order to gain the trust of the local gentry.
