In standard formats, external numbers dictate which digits must appear within the three closest cells of that specific line. Mastering this volume requires applying strict negative constraints:
- The Six-Cell Ban: If a number is forced into the closest three cells, it is mathematically forbidden from the remaining six cells in that line.
- The 2x3 Lockout: Once a digit is conceptually placed in the nearest three cells, it immediately locks out the remainder of its adjacent 2x3 spatial box.
The collection spans over 400 challenges across five escalating difficulty tiers (Easy, Cool, Thinker, Brain, IQ), applying the peripheral constraint to highly restrictive sub-species:
- Proximity Barriers: Manage the mathematical dependencies of Consecutive grids (marked by thick bars) and strictly Non-Consecutive grids where adjacent digits cannot follow numerical sequence.
- Irregular Geometry: Tackle Jigsaw variants where standard squares are replaced by complex, interlocking jigsaw nonets.
- The Frame Finale: The book concludes with six specialized Frame puzzles. Here, external numbers do not represent specific digits, but rather the exact arithmetic sum of the three nearest cells.
Every grid is mathematically verified to possess strictly one unique solution without requiring guesswork.
