Once, there were four baby chicks huddled together in a wire cage at a late-night animal market. Three were mahogany brown. One was golden. They had each other - and on that particular night, that was enough.

Then a kind pair of hands opened the cage door.

*The Four Hens Who Found Home* is the true story of Butter, Joyce, Sylvia, and Poppy - four rescued hens who leave behind a life of confinement and discover a sun-warmed courtyard, a little wooden henhouse with a heart on the door, and a world filled with birdsong, flowers, worms, and freedom.

Warm, funny, and beautifully illustrated, this heartfelt story follows their journey from tiny scraggly chicks to confident ladies as they learn to chase sparrows, explore gardens, lay their very first eggs, and eventually move to an even bigger backyard paradise in the mountains.

Filled with gentle humor, tenderness, and charm, this uplifting tale celebrates rescue, friendship, courage, and the healing power of a loving home.

Perfect for children, families, and animal lovers of all ages, *The Four Hens Who Found Home* is Book One in the *Backyard Animals* series.
