Baby Monkey Punch is a tender picture book about comfort, courage, and belonging, inspired by the real-life baby macaque who captured hearts around the world.
When tiny Punch is born, his mom isn't ready, and a kind zookeeper steps in to care for him. Then one day, an orange plush toy arrives. Punch knows right away it is something safe. He names the toy Sunny, and from that moment on, they are a pair.
But Monkey Mountain is loud and full of strangers. Punch watches. He practices. He reaches out and gets turned away.
Still, he tries again.
And this time, someone reaches back.
With gentle illustrations and warm storytelling, Baby Monkey Punch is a heartfelt story about friendship, resilience, and discovering that you don't have to choose. You can hold onto what makes you feel safe and still make room for connection.
Perfect for children ages 3-8, Punch gently explores:
- The comfort of a favorite stuffed animal or security object
- Learning social rules at your own pace
- Finding belonging without letting go of what makes you feel safe
This is a story for little ones who are:
- Starting school
- Adjusting to change
- Feeling shy in new spaces
- Or simply learning how to connect
