All the Saints Were Left Behind, is a fascinating glimpse into the mystery surrounding the murder of a young girl whose remains are discovered in a burlap sack found hanging from a tree one early morning in 1928. When detective Tom Rubidoux is assigned to the case, he's thrown back into the streets of his childhood in San Diego's Stingeree District. Although he suspects who the murderer is, he is prevented from making the arrest. Twenty years later, another detective stumbles upon the case file only to discover that the wrong men were punished and the real killer is free. As the new detective, Bruce Rubidoux learns that he is tied closer to the case than he realized. His thirst to uncover the truth and follow the clues leads him from the Del Mar Race Track to the Hotel Del Coronado and back to the Stingeree. The killer begins to feel squeezed as Bruce inches closer to stripping him of his freedom and life of privilege. In yet another twist, Bruce comes to realize that exposing the truth could compromise those he loves, including an old flame. Bruce's determination has him confronting figures from his father's childhood, as well as his own memories and demons in a search that ultimately unveils long-buried secrets weaving the killer's past to his own. All the Saints Were Left Behind is a tale of murder, frustration and family, ultimately addressing the question, can we overcome our pasts to help to see the truth and conquer obstacles...even those we create?
