On an earth-like planet in the Andromeda Galaxy, the Creator of the Universe skipped the introduction-and evolution-of the human being as the pinnacle of creation, opting instead for a species of intelligent, social, conversant and powerful flying creatures, the gull-hawk. Book I The Call, the first book on this trilogy, is a thought-provoking addition to the oft-told hero's journey. It is a story of faith, love, war, and the inevitable conflicts that arise between those of differing viewpoints, longstanding traditions, deeply held beliefs, and hidden-and not so hidden-agendas. Building on the diverse traditions found in Richard Bach's inspirational Jonathan Livingston Seagull and George Orwell's allegorical Animal Farm, Robert Cole has written a compelling tale that explores how an individual with high integrity and deep spirituality-but somewhat unorthodox thinking and belief-tries to live within a dominant, rigid theocracy. The three books that comprise After The Messiah Had Gone offer new insights into our own world, along with ways to bridge the seemingly insurmountable chasm dividing those of diametrically opposed beliefs-in the context of a clash between powerful, uncompromising faiths.
