In this captivating psychological thriller, ICU travel nurse Allison Jamison is found unresponsive with a needle in her arm, and implicated as a drug user.
Awakening as a patient in her own unit, she discovers her fiancé, Detective Mark Derning is missing and so is her cell phone. The victim of an opiate poisoning, Mark is in critical condition, and Allison is unaware until three days later, when they are reunited.
Suspicions signal a connection between Mark's attempted murder and Allison's attacker. This close brush with death forces the couple to prioritize their lives as they escape for an overdue vacation.
Justin Tensington, a surgical technician, has been stealing Fentanyl and replacing the liquid with saline, compromising patients' lives with the contaminated vials. An investigation into hospital-wide drug tampering and patient deaths caused by blood-borne pathogens, zeroes in on the surgery employee. Fears that the police might also link him to the attack on Allison and an attempt on Mark's life force Tensington to flee.
Avoiding the authorities at home and intent on pursuing his personal vendetta, Tensington follows them to Italy. The couple's romantic holiday transforms into a struggle to survive and an intense quest for their assailant, whose sinister motives include a far-ranging reach.
Paced like a roller-coaster ride, Absolute Revenge invokes the inner workings of a critical care unit coupled with the deranged mind of a serial criminal that races through a tale of vengeance, duplicity, and betrayal-tempered with a touch of romance-in a mad dash from its hospital setting in Miami to the splendors of Italy that will keep you turning pages late into the night.
