Whilst driving through the forest to the local village with her father, she is involved in an accident, her father left unconscious, Ayumi unsure of what to do seeks the aid of an Orangutan. He is reluctant at first to help, but his good Ayumi Girl of the Borneo Forest is the story of a young Japanese girl able to nature prevails and a firm friendship between them is established. He teaches her the ways of the forest and its many inhabitants both good and bad and the tale of destruction of his habitat.
