Aquamarine is a dark fantasy novel following Isadora Vane, a young woman from Cape Verity, Louisiana, who has been haunted by a mysterious, life-saving encounter since her childhood. At seven years old, Isadora drowned in the Gulf but was miraculously saved by a stranger with eyes the color of deep-sea water. As an adult, she returns to Cape Verity after her mother's death, only to find that the secrets surrounding her past are far darker than she could have imagined. Isadora's life takes an unsettling turn when she reconnects with Caelum Drave, the Veilborn-a powerful being from the Abyssal Realm who once saved her. Caelum reveals that he has unknowingly left a piece of himself within her, and now that shard is changing her. She begins to see and feel things that others cannot, and the boundary between the human world and the Abyss becomes increasingly thin. Caelum has been sent by the Veilborn Court to retrieve the shard, but as the two grow closer, they realize that their connection is deeper than either expected. Isadora's bloodline is intertwined with the Abyss, and the shard that saved her life has bonded her to a world of political intrigue, ancient forces, and a dangerous ruler, Ryvek Thane. Caught between her humanity and the allure of the Abyss, Isadora must navigate an increasingly complex relationship with Caelum, who is bound by his duty to return the shard. As the Veilborn Court's power struggles come to a head, Isadora is faced with impossible choices: to embrace the transformation or to fight to preserve what's left of her humanity. Aquamarine weaves a tale of dark magic, forbidden love, and the cost of power. As Isadora uncovers painful truths about her family, her past, and the price of being saved, she must decide whether to walk into the Abyss or fight against the forces pulling her into its depths.
